Resource Directory

The Waukesha County Breastfeeding Coalition has compiled resources from agencies across the county to create a customized Breastfeeding Resource Directory. The pamphlets (both English and Spanish) may be printed for free from this website using the links below. They are formatted to print legal size, double-sided, and fold using an 8-page gate fold. The guide has been updated as of June 2023.

Family Breastfeeding Support Resources in the Greater Waukesha Area

Prenatal Breastfeeding Classes- Classes may have changed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic

La Leche League of Brookfield/Elm Grove

Where: Brookfield Senior Community Center, 2000 N Calhoun Road

When: First Thursday of the month, 7PM

ProHealth Care Prenatal Breastfeeding Class

Where: Offered at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital

When: Various dates; 6:30pm-8:30pm

Waukesha County WIC Prenatal Breastfeeding Class

Where: Waukesha County Health and Human services building- 540 Riverview Ave (same building as  WIC program)

When: Group class offered monthly- every other Monday or Tuesday; individual classes set up by appointment; time varies from 10AM -Noon, 12:30PM -2:30PM or 4:30PM -6:30PM

Aurora Summit Prenatal Breastfeeding Class

Where: Aurora Medical Center Summit

When: Second Wednesday of each month from 6:00pm-8:30pm

Elmbrook Memorial Breastfeeding Class

Where: Brookfield Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital Elmbrook Campus: 19333 W. North Avenue, Brookfield, WI 53045

When: Monthly, date varies, 6:00-8:30pm

Community Memorial Hospital Breastfeeding Class

Where: Community Memorial Hospital: W180 N8085 Town Hall Road Menomonee Falls, WI 53051

When: Recurring classes

Coeffective

Pumpspotting provides a network of support from fellow parents and lactation consultants. PINs of breastfeeding friendly places and more.

IBCLC Care Directory

The IBCLC Care Directory lists recognized hospitals, birthing facilities, birthing services, and community-based health agencies that hire currently certified International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certificants and have a dedicated lactation support program.

WIC

Your local WIC program provides breastfeeding education and support, nutritious foods, information on healthy eating, and referrals to health care for pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women and children up to the age of five. Call them at (262) 896-8440,
