Our mission is to encourage collaboration among breastfeeding advocates and agencies serving
childbearing women and their families within the community to provide a unified message in protecting, promoting, and supporting breastfeeding within Waukesha County.

Vision Statement
Leading the way to promote, support, and protect breastfeeding as the culture in Waukesha County.

                              Breastfeeding-related laws
Wisconsin State Statute 253.16: A mother may breastfeed her child in any public or private location where the mother and child are otherwise authorized to be. In such a location, no person may prohibit a mother from breastfeeding her child, direct a mother to move to another location to breastfeed her child, direct a mother to cover her child or breast while breastfeeding, or otherwise restrict a mother from breastfeeding.

Federal Section 4207 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act: The amendment requires an employer to provide reasonable break time for an employee to express breast milk for her nursing child for one year after the child's birth. The employer must also provide a place, other than a bathroom, for the employee to express breast milk.
